What is Extemp?

Novice (NX), Foreign (FX), 

Domestic (DX)

  • Competitors are presented with a choice of three questions related to current events and, in 30 minutes, prepare a seven-minute speech answering the selected question. 

  • Competitors use the internet and must cite sources for their collected information

  • Speeches are given out of memory
