Competitors deliver a self-written, ten-minute speech on a topic of their choosing. Topics range widely, and the speech is delivered from memory.

• Oratory speeches are persuasive. Typically, there is a call to action at the end.

• Informative speeches are strictly informative and must educate, not advocate. Info is like that really cool podcast you can’t stop talking about or a Ted Talk.
